I started fishing before I could walk and come from a long line of fishermen in my family. I grew up in Stillwater, MN and fished at my parent’s lake cabin in Northwestern Wisconsin. I arrived in North Dakota in 1993 to attend college and play Baseball at UND in Grand Forks, and have never left. I started fishing on Devils Lake in the fall of 1993 about the time the lake really started to change.  My second cast on Devils Lake was a 32 inch Walleye and that's when  I knew I could never leave this sportsman’s paradise. I have been taking people fishing on Devils Lake since the mid 90’s. I have also been a Corporate Pilot and Flight Instructor, so I come from a customer service background. I love meeting new people and showing them a great time! I have a young son of my own who I love to fish with and has the same passion for fishing as I do.  I am a family oriented person who enjoys helping and teaching others to catch fish.

I started fishing as soon as I could hold a rod. My parents brought my three brothers and I camping and fishing every weekend to Lake Sakakawea, Devils Lake, and Lake of the Woods. I knew I was addicted to fishing when I was caught sleep fishing off the side of my bunk bed.  I grew up in rural North Dakota where I could hunt in my own backyard. In high school I worked as a busboy with my brothers at the Bronze Boot Restaurant where my mom was a waitress. I saved for years and after I graduated I bought my first boat, a 16ft Lund Mr. Pike with 25 Horse Engine. It was my ticket to fishing freedom.  During college I even did my Physical Therapist Assistant clinicals in Devils Lake so I could live in my parent's camper and fish every day. In 2009 I met my wife and got married in 2010. I knew she was the one when one of our dates was shore fishing and she didn't complain even after 8 hours. We knew I needed to fulfill my dream to make fishing a career. I found my green and sparkly, 21 ft Ranger Boat and received my independent guiding licensure.  My love of fishing is now shared with my two sons as they always have a toy fish or rod in their hands.  They know who to call when they want to be "put on the fish"!
